Chubb posts Q1 2024 profits

A cyber attack simulation board game created by Chubb has won a global gaming industry accolade.

“Hacksagon!” developed by Chubb’s European cyber team won the award for Excellence in No-Tech Gamification Design at the recent 2018 GamiCon awards in Chicago.

“Hacksagon!” was created by Chubb to help brokers and customers improve their understanding of cyber risk through a range of different scenarios and open the dialogue on cyber risk in a simple way.

Working as a team and using role-play to replicate key functions of a business, players must defend a fictional company from a variety of simulated cyber attacks. The threat nature of each incident evolves during game play depending on business type and also how players decide to tackle the breaches. Teams are rewarded – or penalised – depending on the effectiveness of their strategy.

The game has already been extremely popular among brokers and customers since it was introduced by Chubb earlier this year, winning praise for demonstrating the effectiveness of strategic planning and preparedness.

Kyle Bryant, Cyber Underwriting Manager, Europe, Eurasia & Africa, said:

“I am delighted Chubb has won this award for ‘Hacksagon!’ Cyber risk is an incredibly important issue for businesses to understand but there remains confusion or a lack of understanding within some firms about how best to deal with these threats. The scenarios created for ‘Hacksagon!’ were developed to demonstrate how an attack or incident might occur and the type of responses needed. Hacksagon! is a way to understand cyber risk and start a conversation about how a business needs to respond.”
