IICF holds future of work reform

The Midwest Division of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), a unique nonprofit organization dedicated to helping communities and enriching lives through grants, volunteerism and leadership, announces that its Missouri Chapter has expanded its scope to form the Heartland Chapter. This new branch will include insurance industry supporters based in Missouri, Kansas and Southern Illinois, with the potential reach to neighboring Iowa and Nebraska in the future.

“We are thrilled to reach new industry partners, volunteers and nonprofit grant recipients as we move forward as the Heartland Chapter,” said Bob Gulino, Regional Vice President at The Hartford, and Founding Board Member and current Chair of the Missouri Chapter. “After noticing an increasing appetite within the regional insurance industry for greater networking opportunities aligned with charitable initiatives, we determined that collaboration through chapter expansion was the next logical step toward cultivating this culture of giving.”

The Missouri Chapter was founded in St. Louis in 2017 and has since awarded $117,000 in grants to 11 area nonprofits focused on education, health and safety. Companies currently represented in the newly expanded Heartland chapter include: AmWins Group, Inc., Aon, Assured Partners, Crane, Chubb, CNA, the Daniel and Henry Co., Lockton, Safety National, Swiss Re, The Hartford, Thomas McGee Group, and Zurich.

“This expansion demonstrates the enthusiasm and rapid growth we’ve seen across the IICF Midwest,” said Sabrina Hart, Executive Vice President, Central Zone Executive at Zurich, and Chair of the Midwest Division. “We’re proud to deliver wider opportunity for industry professionals dedicated to giving back to their communities through volunteerism and fundraising. The Missouri Chapter has established a strong presence through the involvement of the insurance community, and we expect the expanded Heartland Chapter will have a meaningful impact on the nonprofits they serve.”

The new Heartland Chapter recently hosted its 2019 Oktoberfest annual benefit event, where more than 200 attendees raised $36,000 for six featured nonprofits, including Butterfly Haven, City Academy, Covenant House, HOME WORKS!, Our Lady’s Inn and St. Louis MetroMarket.
