Across America Insurance Services, Inc., a specialized wholesale insurance brokerage serving the commercial trucking and transportation industry, is adding new fire power to its C-suite by naming industry veteran Leah Barr as chief financial and technology officer.
Joining Across America from Amwins Group, Barr will apply her expertise and financial acumen to guide future growth and strategic endeavors companywide, including new technology solutions. In particular, Barr is leading initiatives to enhance the use of telematics as well as a new Concept One operating system, aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing carrier, broker and insured experiences at Across America.

A 20-year insurance industry veteran, Barr has worked with carriers, managing general agencies and wholesale distributors of varying sizes. In past roles, Barr has served as technology manager in the premium accounting department for Amwins and vice president, CFO for Hanover Excess & Surplus.

Barr officially took over the role in the fourth quarter of 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting, CIS and works from her home in North Carolina, regularly traveling to meet the team in California.
